As we strive to build a better world through architecture, we prioritize fostering a vibrant team culture where individuals feel valued and engaged. Our Beginnings
The Hill Firm located in Fort Smith, AR was founded in 2003 by architect Paul Dale Hill. During his multiple decade career, he went on to receive numerous awards and recognition and served as the President of the Fort Smith Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture. After a great career he retired from The Hill Firm. Ever since the beginning of the firm, we've had a long-standing commitment to multi-family residential, religious and community development. Building on this tradition, we continue Paul's legacy and the work he began by providing exceptional service to our clients and striving to create safe and quality spaces for everyone.
Kevin Clauson, RA
President / Principal Architect
Kevin brings over two decades of experience in the construction and design industry to The Hill Firm. Joining in 2011 and shortly after obtaining his architecture licensure in 2017, his dedication and expertise quickly lead to his appointment as President in 2018. His role includes overseeing all aspects of the company and the design process. He believes that strong communication between all parties – from architects and builders to clients and tenants – is essential for a project's success.
Kevin pushes the boundaries of traditional architecture. He is a strong proponent of implementing sustainable construction methods and has a keen interest in exploring new ventures within the industry. This passion for progress extends beyond design and construction, as evident by his growing interest in development, real property holdings and building conversions. With this holistic perspective, his interest in the industry goes beyond standard architectural practice. Kevin's hands-on experience renovating multiple residential and commercial buildings has provided him with a unique perspective allowing him to better understand the needs of both clients and tenants.

Bobby Nixon, RA
Architect
Bobby is a licensed architect and joined The Hill Firm in 2012. He has more than 20 years of experience with mercantile, institutional, hospitality, healthcare and residential projects. His professional experience consists of lead designer, project management, construction document preparation and code research. Bobby is a veteran that brings a wealth of knowledge to our team through his carpentry and construction background.
Daniel Munguia
BIM Tech / Project Coordinator
Daniel graduated from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in 2011 with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Aided Drafting & Design. He joined The Hill Firm in the fall of 2012 and has been with the company for over 10 years. Beyond his main role of Construction Document preparation, his role has expanded into Project Coordination. He conducts initial project research, provides coordination between consultants to meet deadlines, and assists in the plan submission process between the local jurisdiction and the client. As a BIM Technician his role also includes managing office software related to the industry to stay up to date with the latest programs. In his free time, Daniel loves to spend time with his wife and daughter, traveling together and eating good food.
David Clauson
BIM Tech / I.T. Manager
David joined The Hill Firm in 2022. He has 22+ years’ experience in Digital Media Production, Computer Generated Imaging, 3-D Animation, and Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD).
Rebecca Clauson
Office Manager / Notary Public
Rebecca joined The Hill Firm in 2012. She has experience in graphic design, marketing and office administration.
